WELCOME TO THE WABBIT NEWS PAGE
Sadness filled our warren earlier this year when our gentle giant Sam passed away. R.I.P. Sam, we shall miss you.
5th Year Anniversary
This year the Bad Wabbit Crew will be 5 years old. Being 5 years old no doubt explains a lot of our behaviour apparently. Happy Birthday to us!!!! And no, we still have no intention of growing up.
January 2016 saw the start of a new Wabbit Warren, half way up England. Congratulations from those down south to you up there.
2015 Shindig cheque. Fordwater School
Our 2015 Shindig took place on 6th of June 2015. We raised £1350 for the Fordwater School for Children with Complex and Severe Learning Difficulties. We had a tour of the school and got to see how some of the money will be spent when we handed over the cheque.
Air Ambulance cheque
We raised £500 for the local Air Ambulance at our 2014 Shindig and handed the cheque to them at the Black Horse in Climping. Thanks to all who attended and/or helped on the day.
Help for Heroes cheque from Shindig
Our Summer Shindig in 2013 raised money for Help for Heroes and the money was handed over at The Ship Inn, Aldwick, Bognor Regis recently. Thanks to all who helped organise the event and those who attended. Our 2014 Shindig raised money for the Air Ambulance in memory of Jacko.
Shindig on Facebook
You can now find more photos and info about our past and present Shindigs on Facebook. Search on Facebook for Bad Wabbit Shindig.
One of our earliest Wabbits, Jacko, was involved in an accident on Sunday 25th August 2013 whilst he was riding his bike along the A259 between Bognor and Littlehampton when a car pulled out from a side turning. Despite efforts by the emergency services, Jacko died at the scene due to the severity of his injuries. He will be greatly misssed by us Wabbits, his family and his many friends. Rest in peace Jacko.
Our 2013 Summer Shindig, which included a bike show, catering, cheap drinks, free camping, some light hearted afternoon entertainment, stalls and eight live bands playing has now taken place and was as always a great success, and dont forget was in support of Help for Heroes this year.
Memorials for Carl
A year has passed since Carl the Wabbit founder passed away and so in the last couple of days memorials have beenb held in his honour. Firstly, us Wabbits and friends met at Cheers for drinks and fireworks on the beach on Thursday evening. Having become a member of Red Devils MC before his death, a memorial run was held on the following Saturday where members of several clubs, supporters and friends rode to another of Carls usual pubs, the Prince of Wales in Bognor, for food, drinks and more fireworks.
Shindig takes place
Thanks for everyone who came along to our Bad Wabbit Easter Shindig 2012. A great time was had by all both during the day, and then later on during the evening for the live music. The money raised will be donated to the Bloodrunners Charity SERV.
Founding Wabbit passes away
It was with much sadness and regret that we had to announce the death of our founder, Carl on 15th November 2011. He will be missed greatly by not only us Wabbits, but also by his family, friends and club. Our thanks go to all those who attended his funeral, some travelling from Sweden, Italy, Belgium, Germany and elsewhere to make it a memorable and fitting day. http://www.bognor.co.uk/news/local/bikers_bid_farewell_to_friend_in_north_bersted_1_3300216
First Doe in the Wabbits
Following an incident that our Supreme Being approved of, a First Doe was allowed in the Wabbits. Jolly amusing it was too!
The First Bad Wabbit Shindig
Events outside of our control meant that a local bike club cancelled an event they had planned in Bognor Regis. We took the opportunity to take over the running of this event, and as such our First Bad Wabbit Shindig took place in October 2011. This enabled us to raise money for the neo-natal ward that had provided much needed care for a baby boy of a good friend had that had been looked after in hospital for some time.
In 2011 a few of us decided to found the Bad Wabbit Crew, a club for partying friends with few rules. The Crew developed and now meets most weeks. New members are welcome if you can find us. Membership is by invite, not application! The question of whether the Bad Wabbit Crew was to be a bike club was raised, but it was decided that this was not what we wanted, and the Wabbits remain a group of friends who party, some ride bikes, some drive cars, some walk and that suits us fine.
